Muratović families can be both Croats (the family name originates from Cazinska Krajina Region , Bosnia) and Bosniaks (from Berane, Montenegro ), very rarely Roms (from Banja Luka area, Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Bosanska Krupa area).
Prevalence
About 400 people with faimily name Muratović live in Croatia today, in 160 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 42 cities and 41 other places, mostly in Zagreb (250), Rijeka (45), Pula (20), Sesvete (15), and in Beli Manastir (15).
