About 50 people with faimily name Muftić live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number more than doubled. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 11 cities and four other places, mostly in Zagreb (30), Jezevik in Slavonski Brod area (<10), Rijeka (<5), Opatija (<5), and in Velika Gorica (<5).

Family name Muftić (including: Muftic , Muftich ) is present in 17 countries on four continents. The family name "Muftic " is used by some 100 people in the United States , about 60 in Sweden , and small number of people in Germany. "Muftich " is used by small number of people in the United States.
