Muškardin families are Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Losinj. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Rijeka and on the Island of Losinj. In Ustrine on the Island of Losinj every fourth inhabitant had the family name Muškardin.
Prevalence
About 150 people with faimily name Muškardin live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 240 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in four Croatian counties, in 9 cities and 15 other places, mostly in Rijeka (40), Mali Losinj on the Island of Losinj (20), Cres on the Island of Cres (20), Ustrine on the Island of Losinj (10), and in Moscenicka Draga in Opatija area (10).
