Mršić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Bosnian Krajina. According to some sources they are from Mostar (Herzegovina), or Imotske krajine, barely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosnian Krajina (Teslic area) and in Zagreb. In Vlatkovac in Pleternica area every fifth inhabitant had the family name Mršić.
About 1700 people with faimily name Mršić live in Croatia today, in 690 households. There were 840 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 66 cities and 144 other places, mostly in Zagreb (275), Split (110), Rijeka (105), Biograd na moru (80), and in Zadar (70).
