Momić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Porec , often Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Porec and Pula. In Stranići kod Nove Vasi in Porec nearly every inhabitant had the family name Momić.

About 240 people with faimily name Momić live in Croatia today, in 110 households. There were 240 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 24 cities and 37 other places, mostly in Zagreb (25), Rosini (20), Porec (15), Tar (10), and in Daruvar (10).
