Mićić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Bosnian Posavina. According to some sources they are from the Island of Ugljan, also Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Brcko area) and in Bosanian Posavina (Gradacac area). In Skakava Donja in Bosanian Posavina every thirtieth inhabitant had the family name Mićić.
Prevalence
About 330 people with faimily name Mićić live in Croatia today, in 150 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 37 cities and 35 other places, mostly in Zagreb (45), Rijeka (30), Vinkovci (20), Bobota in Vukovar area (20), and in Sesvete (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
