Milović families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Skradin , whereas often Croats (from Imotski area ) and Montenegrins (from Niksic, Montenegro ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Skradin and Sibenik. In Gračac in Skradin every third inhabitant had the family name Milović.
Prevalence
About 370 people with faimily name Milović live in Croatia today, in 160 households. There were 330 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 10 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 26 cities and 22 other places, mostly in Sibenik (75), Skradin (45), Zagreb (40), Gracac (25), and in Rijeka (25).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1538 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
