Milovčić families are Croats and they are mostly from Rijeka. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Rijeka. In Barušići on the Island of Krk every fourth inhabitant had the family name Milovčić.
Prevalence
About 80 people with faimily name Milovčić live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 120 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 7 cities and 12 other places, mostly in Zagreb (15), Split (15), Vrbnik on the Island of Krk (15), Dubrovnik (10), and in Jarce Polje in Duga Resa area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1929 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
