Milić families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from middle Bosnia and according to some sources s Hvara or from Ravnih Kotara , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and Zagreb. In Vrse in Middle Bosnia nearly every inhabitant had the family name Milić.
Prevalence
About 3500 people with faimily name Milić live in Croatia today, in 1500 households. There were 2800 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 92 cities and 284 other places, mostly in Zagreb (530), Split (325), Rijeka (110), Solin (105), and in Osijek (100).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over eighty times, the first time 1749 in source 18th Century Census.
