Mijoković families are often Croats and they are mostly from Pozega area , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pozega area and in Pozega. In Podgorje in Pozega area every tenth inhabitant had the family name Mijoković.
Prevalence
About 150 people with faimily name Mijoković live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 190 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 17 cities and 26 other places, mostly in Podgorje in Pozega area (20), Bjelovar (15), Tovarnik in Ilok area (15), Doljanovci in Pozega area (10), and in Narta in Cazma area (10).
Outside Croatia
Family name Mijoković is present in four countries on two continents. The family name "Mijokovic " is used by small number of people in the United States.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
