Mičić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Zadar , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zadar and in Bosanian Posavina (Brcko area).
Prevalence
About 530 people with faimily name Mičić live in Croatia today, in 220 households. There were 270 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 29 cities and 35 other places, mostly in Zadar (275), Zagreb (50), Sutomiscica on the Island of Ugljan (25), Rijeka (25), and in Pula (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over eighty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
