Malobabić families are often Serbs and they are mostly from Glina area , less frequently Croats (from Karlovac ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Karlovac and in Glina area. In places Slavsko Polje and Katinovac in Glina area every ninth inhabitant had the family name Malobabić.
Prevalence
About 150 people with faimily name Malobabić live in Croatia today, in 80 households. There were 300 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 15 cities and 12 other places, mostly in Slavsko Polje in Glina area (35), Zagreb (30), Karlovac (20), Rijeka (15), and in Duga Resa (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
