Maloča families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Knin area , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Knin area and in Knin.
Prevalence
About 340 people with faimily name Maloča live in Croatia today, in 130 households. There were 160 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 26 cities and 15 other places, mostly in Zagreb (115), Knin (40), Kijevo in Knin area (35), Virovitica (30), and in Osijek (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
