Maljić families are Croats and they are mostly from middle Bosnia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Middle Bosnia (Travnik area) and in Zadar. In places Bilići and Ovčarevo in Middle Bosnia every eighth inhabitant had the family name Maljić.
Prevalence
About 80 people with faimily name Maljić live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 11 cities and 9 other places, mostly in Sumetlica in Nova Gradiska area (15), Knin (10), Mali Losinj on the Island of Losinj (<10), Rijeka (<10), and in Dugi Rat in Omis area (<10).

Family name Maljić (including: Maljic , Maliick , Malliick and Maljici ) is present in 8 countries on two continents.
