Maleković families are Croats and they are mostly from Zapresic. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zapresic and Zagreb.
Prevalence
About 190 people with faimily name Maleković live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 270 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 15 cities and 28 other places, mostly in Zagreb (45), Zapresic (25), Prigorje Brdovecko in Zapresic area (20), Tkalci (10), and in Brdovec in Zapresic area (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
