About 80 people with faimily name Ležaja live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 160 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 13 cities and 9 other places, mostly in Zadar (20), Sibenik (<10), Beli Manastir (<10), Donji Karin (<10), and in Zagreb (<5).
Outside Croatia
At least one family with this surname emigrated from Croatia to the United States. Family name Ležaja is present in this form only in Croatia.
