Kuzmanić families are Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Ciovo. According to some sources they are from Omis or Lokve Rogoznice. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and Trogir. In Okrug Gornji on the Island of Ciovo every sixth inhabitant had the family name Kuzmanić.
Prevalence
About 790 people with faimily name Kuzmanić live in Croatia today, in 330 households. There were 740 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 10 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 24 cities and 26 other places, mostly in Split (350), Okrug Gornji on the Island of Ciovo (75), Kastel Stari (45), Zagreb (45), and in Omis (40).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over thirty times, the first time 1749 in source 18th Century Census.
