In Croatia, Kulčar families are almost entirely Croats (from Krizevci ), very rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Osijek and Zagreb.
Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Kulčar live in Croatia today, in 15 households. There were 70 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly. They are located and two other Croatian places, mostly in Zagreb (10), Ivanovac in Osijek area (<5), Vojakovac (<5), Osijek (<5), and in Krizevci (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
