Kužet families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Benkovac area , whereas often Croats (from Split ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Benkovac and in Benkovac area.
Prevalence
About 120 people with faimily name Kužet live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 160 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 10 cities and 15 other places, mostly in Zadar (25), Ploce (<10), Rijeka (<10), Kastel Stari (<5), and in Nustar in Vinkovci area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1928 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
