Krušelj families are Croats and they are mostly from Ludbreg area. According to some sources they are from Donja Stubica area and Oroslavja. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Ludbreg area. In places Struga and Županec in Ludbreg area every ninth inhabitant had the family name Krušelj.
Prevalence
About 370 people with faimily name Krušelj live in Croatia today, in 160 households. There were 420 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 20 cities and 31 other places, mostly in Zagreb (85), in Struga (60) and Zupanec (25) in Ludbreg area, Zlatar (20), and in Prelog (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
