Krnjić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Bosnian Posavina. According to some sources they are from Stolac area (Bosnia), very rarely Bosniaks. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Brcko area) and in Doboj, Bosnia (Doboj area).
Prevalence
About 360 people with faimily name Krnjić live in Croatia today, in 140 households. There were 60 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 33 cities and 56 other places, mostly in Zagreb (75), Viskovci in Djakovo area (20), Krizevci (15), Nijemci in Vinkovci area (15), and in Vukovar (15).
