Krleža families are Croats and they are mostly from Krapina. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Krapina. In Polje Krapinsko in Krapina every twentieth inhabitant had the family name Krleža.
Prevalence
About 190 people with faimily name Krleža live in Croatia today, in 70 households. There were 180 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 10 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 14 cities and 22 other places, mostly in Zagreb (40), Polje Krapinsko (15), Bobovje (15), Ludbreg (10), and in Radoboj in Krapina area (10).

Family name Krleža is present in two countries on two continents.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
