Korunić families are Croats and they are mostly from Cakovec area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cakovec and in Cakovec area. In places Lopatinec and Zasadbreg in Cakovec area every twentieth inhabitant had the family name Korunić.
Prevalence
About 190 people with faimily name Korunić live in Croatia today, in 80 households. There were 150 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 14 cities and 20 other places, mostly in Zagreb (40), Smokvica on the Island of Korcula (25), Lopatinec in Cakovec area (20), Cakovec (15), and in Dubrovnik (<10).
