Kolundžija families are often Serbs and they are mostly from Bosnian Posavina , less frequently Croats. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Knin and in Bosanian Posavina (Bosanski Novi area). In Gorinja in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every fourth inhabitant had the family name Kolundžija.
Prevalence
About 130 people with faimily name Kolundžija live in Croatia today, in 70 households. There were 250 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 17 cities and 16 other places, mostly in Zagreb (20), Zagrovic (15), Kutina (15), Rijeka (<10), and in Matijevici in Hrvatska Kostajnica area (<10).
Outside Croatia
Family name Kolundžija is present in this form only in Croatia.
