Klasnić families are Croats and they are mostly from Glina area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Glina area and in Zagreb. In Opatija in Glina area every second inhabitant had the family name Klasnić.
Prevalence
About 390 people with faimily name Klasnić live in Croatia today, in 170 households. There were 420 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 18 cities and 44 other places, mostly in Velika Gorica (80), Opatija in Glina area (55), Zagreb (55), Slavonski Kobas in Pleternica area (15), and in Ivanic-Grad (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
