Kitić families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Bosnian Krajina , whereas often Croats (from middle Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Doboj, Bosnia (Doboj area). In Šereg Ilova in Bosnian Krajina every fourth inhabitant had the family name Kitić.
Prevalence
About 110 people with faimily name Kitić live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 20 cities and 9 other places, mostly in Zagreb (25), Rajevo Selo in Zupanja area (10), Karlovac (<10), Velika Gorica (<10), and in Pula (<10).
