Keča families are often Croats and they are mostly from Karlovac , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Karlovac. In Jasenje in Bosnian Krajina every fourth inhabitant had the family name Keča.
Prevalence
About 160 people with faimily name Keča live in Croatia today, in 80 households. There were 140 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 10 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 20 cities and 8 other places, mostly in Zagreb (70), Karlovac (20), Donja Suvaja in Knin area (<10), Trogir (<10), and in Dugo Selo (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
