Katalinić families are Croats and they are mostly from Senj. According to some sources they are from Trogir or Split. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Senj and Zagreb. In places Crni Kal , Melnice and Vratnik in Senj every third inhabitant had the family name Katalinić.
Prevalence
About 1100 people with faimily name Katalinić live in Croatia today, in 490 households. There were 990 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 10 percent. They are located in all Croatian counties, in 60 cities and 86 other places, mostly in Zagreb (205), Rijeka (100), Zadar (55), Senj (50), and in Split (45).
