Kasić families are often Croats and they are mostly from north Herzegovina , less frequently Bosniaks. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in North Herzegovina (Konjic area) and in Zagreb. In Sultići in North Herzegovina every fourth inhabitant had the family name Kasić.

About 80 people with faimily name Kasić live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 6 cities and 9 other places, mostly in Zagreb (30), Rijeka (30), Vinkovci (10), Metkovic (10), and in Vodjinci in Vinkovci area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1927 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
