In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born on the Island of Losinj and in Zagreb. In Unije on the Island of Losinj every fourth inhabitant had the family name Karčić.
Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Karčić live in Croatia today, in 20 households. There were 150 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly. They are located in four Croatian counties and four other places, mostly in Mali Losinj (10) and Unije (<10) on the Island of Losinj, Pula (<10), Zagreb (<5), and in Labin (<5).
