Surname Jovetić in modern Croatia

Jovetić families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Slunj area , whereas often Croats. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Slunj area and in Ogulin. In places Lička Jesenica and Jezero i Dio in Slunj area every tenth inhabitant had the family name Jovetić.

Prevalence

About 100 people with faimily name Jovetić live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 260 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly.
They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 14 cities and 20 other places, mostly in Zagreb (20), in Plaski (<10) and Jezero i Dio (<10) in Slunj area, Opatija (<10), and in Saborsko in Slunj area (<10).

The family name "Jovetic " is used by small number of people in the United States , small number in Indonesia , and small number of people in Italy. "Yovetich " is used by some 60 people in the United States and small number in Canada.
