In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Bosanski Samac area) and in Bosanian Posavina (Gradacac area). In places Tišina , Bosanski Šamac and Donja Tramošnica in Bosanian Posavina every fourtieth inhabitant had the family name Jelečević.
