In Croatia, Jančula families are generally Croats (from Djakovo ), rarely Slovaks (from Nasice ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Nasice and Djakovo. In Markovac Našički in Nasice every seventieth inhabitant had the family name Jančula.
Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Jančula live in Croatia today, in 11 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 70 percent. They are located in only five naselja i to in Djakovo (15), Nasice (<10), Zagreb (<5), Markovac Nasicki (<5), and in Breznica Nasicka in Nasice area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1943 in source Directorium ARCHI-DIOECESI ZAGREBIENSI.
