Ipša families are Croats and they are mostly from Novi Marof. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Varazdin and Novi Marof. In Madžarevo in Novi Marof every ninth inhabitant had the family name Ipša.
Prevalence
About 310 people with faimily name Ipša live in Croatia today, in 130 households. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 20 cities and 34 other places, mostly in Madzarevo (70), Varazdin (45), Zagreb (40), Novi Marof (30), and in Funtana in Rovinj area (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
