Inić families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Benkovac area , whereas often Croats (from Vrbovca area). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Vukovar and Benkovac. In Slatina in Vrbovec area every eighth inhabitant had the family name Inić.
Prevalence
About 90 people with faimily name Inić live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 110 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 14 cities and 7 other places, mostly in Vukovar (10), Brsadin in Vukovar area (10), Zadar (<10), Zapuzane (<10), and in Split (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
