Huskić families can be both Croats (from Cazinska Krajina Region, Bosnia) and Bosniaks (from Bosnian Posavina ), rarely Roms (srednja Bosna). According to some sources ovo the family name originates from Banje Lukearea. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Cazin area). In Ponjevići in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every second inhabitant had the family name Huskić.
Prevalence
About 320 people with faimily name Huskić live in Croatia today, in 130 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 48 cities and 38 other places, mostly in Zagreb (130), Slavonski Brod (30), Rijeka (20), Pula (20), and in Sesvete (15).

Family name Huskić is present in 22 countries worldwide. The family name "Huskic " is used by some 500 people in the United States , about 400 in Germany , and some 90 people in France.
