Heđi families are often Croats and they are mostly from Donji Miholjac area , rarely Hungarians. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Vinkovci and in Nasice area.
Prevalence
About 100 people with faimily name Heđi live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 130 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 16 cities and 14 other places, mostly in Djurdjenovac in Nasice area (10), Cerna in Zupanja area (<10), Vukovar (<10), Daruvar (<10), and in Vinkovci (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
