Gverić families are Croats and they are mostly from Vrlika. According to other sources they are from Korcula or maybe even Italian origin. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Vrlika and Drnis. In Vinalić in Vrlika every tenth inhabitant had the family name Gverić.
Prevalence
About 210 people with faimily name Gverić live in Croatia today, in 80 households. There were 100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 18 cities and 13 other places, mostly in Zagreb (50), Sibenik (30), Vinalic (20), Virovitica (15), and in Split (10).
