Gutić families are Croats and they are mostly from Vrlika. According to some sources they are from Stolac area, Bosnia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Brcko area) and in Vrlika. In Desetnik in Middle Bosnia nearly every inhabitant had the family name Gutić.
Prevalence
About 190 people with faimily name Gutić live in Croatia today, in 80 households. There were 80 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number more than doubled. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 19 cities and 18 other places, mostly in Zagreb (35), Vinalic (20), Split (15), Virovitica (15), and in Metkovic (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1942 in source Phone Directory of the Independent State of Croatia 1942.
