Grlić families are Croats and they are mostly from Doboj area , Bosnia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Doboj, Bosnia (Doboj area) and in Middle Bosnia (Maglaj area). In Radojčići in Middle Bosnia every eighth inhabitant had the family name Grlić.
Prevalence
About 350 people with faimily name Grlić live in Croatia today, in 150 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 23 cities and 45 other places, mostly in Zagreb (110), Sesvete (35), Rijeka (20), Velika Gorica (20), and in Split (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
