Gnjatović families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Obrovac , whereas often Croats (from Obrovac area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Obrovac and Zagreb. In Mačkovo Selo in Petrinja every sixth inhabitant had the family name Gnjatović.
Prevalence
About 230 people with faimily name Gnjatović live in Croatia today, in 130 households. There were 400 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 28 cities and 23 other places, mostly in Zagreb (45), Rijeka (15), Zadar (15), Ogulin (10), and in Sisak (<10).
