Gluščić families are Croats and they are mostly from Samobor. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Samobor and in Slovenia. In places Noršić Selo and Celine Samoborske in Samobor every sixth inhabitant had the family name Gluščić.
Prevalence
About 230 people with faimily name Gluščić live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 180 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 10 cities and 31 other places, mostly in Celine Samoborske (35), Samobor (35), Zagreb (25), Norsic Selo (15), and in Duga Resa (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
