Furundžija families are Croats and they are mostly from middle Bosnia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Middle Bosnia (Skender Vakuf area) and in Middle Bosnia (Vitez area). In Gornji Orašac in Middle Bosnia every sixth inhabitant had the family name Furundžija.
Prevalence
About 60 people with faimily name Furundžija live in Croatia today, in 20 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 8 cities and 10 other places, mostly in Jaksic in Pozega area (15), Pula (<10), Cukovec (<10), Nova Kapela in Vrbovec area (<10), and in Vukovar (<5).
