About 170 people with faimily name Franušić live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 170 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 7 cities and 12 other places, mostly in Luka on the Peljesac peninsula (80), Zagreb (25), Dubrovnik (25), Hodilje on the Peljesac peninsula (10), and in Split (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1925 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
