In Croatia, Floridan families are generally Croats (from Buzet area ), rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Rijeka and in Buzet area.
Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Floridan live in Croatia today, in 11 households. There were 40 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in two Croatian counties, four cities and threee other places, mostly in Rijeka (<10), Pula (<10), Matulji in Opatija area (<5), Raponji in Labin area (<5), and in Rovinj (<5).

Family name Floridan is present in four countries on two continents.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1928 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
