Ferić families are Croats and they are mostly from Pleternica area. According to some sources they are from Bosnia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Slavonski Brod and Djakovo. In Stupnički Kuti in Pleternica area every ninth inhabitant had the family name Ferić.
Prevalence
About 750 people with faimily name Ferić live in Croatia today, in 310 households. There were 890 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 28 cities and 57 other places, mostly in Zagreb (115), Split (80), Slavonski Brod (50), Novi Perkovci (45), and in Bebrina in Pleternica area (40).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over sixty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
