Elezović families are frequently Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Solta , less frequently Bosniaks (from Cazinska Krajina Region, Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Split. In Elezovići in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every fifth inhabitant had the family name Elezović.
Prevalence
About 190 people with faimily name Elezović live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 90 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 20 cities and 10 other places, mostly in Zagreb (75), Split (25), Rijeka (20), Dubrovnik (20), and in Sisak (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1825 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
