Duras families are Croats and they are mostly from Labin area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pula and in Labin area. In Hrboki in Labin area every third inhabitant had the family name Duras.

They are only located in four Croatian cities and 7 other places, mostly in Pula (35), Hrboki in Labin area (30), Labin (<5), Loborika in Pula area (<5), and in Kapelica (<5).

At least six families with this surname emigrated from Croatia to the United States (4) and Sweden (2).
