Dugalić families are frequently Croats and they are mostly from Zupanja area , rarely Bosniaks and Serbs. According to some sources the family name originates from Valpovo area (Harkanovaca). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Bosanski Brod area) and in Zupanja area. In Ripna in Middle Bosnia every second inhabitant had the family name Dugalić.
Prevalence
About 200 people with faimily name Dugalić live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 150 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 21 cities and 22 other places, mostly in Slavonski Brod (45), Gradiste in Zupanja area (35), Osijek (20), Velika Gorica (10), and in Stitar (10).
Outside Croatia
Family name Dugalić is present in 14 countries on four continents. The family name "Dugalic " is used by small number of people in the United States , small number in Switzerland , and small number of people in Turkey.
