Dragović families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Opuzen area , also Serbs, very rarely Montenegrins. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Skradin and Zagreb. In places Gračac and Sonković in Skradin every eighth inhabitant had the family name Dragović.
Prevalence
About 590 people with faimily name Dragović live in Croatia today, in 280 households. There were 780 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 40 cities and 49 other places, mostly in Zagreb (115), Metkovic (50), Runovic in Imotski area (35), Sibenik (35), and in Sesvete (25).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
